Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog :)

I'll be posting a mix of both my personal and professional work, sharing images of the portraits and weddings that I photograph as well as the things and people (grandsons mainly) that make up my everyday life :) I hope to update regularly with sneak peaks of newly photographed sessions as well.

A little about me, I'm a wife and mother and we have 2 adult children, a son and daughter, I'm also Nani to two gorgeous grandsons who make up a huge part of my family shots as I'm also a digi scrapper.

My professional work includes photographing babies, children, families, maternity and weddings.

You can see this work here at Karen Johnson Photography

I am also priviledged to be a part of an enterprising group of New Zealand and Australian Photographers who are working at spreading the word about Senior Photography which is very popular in the United States.

If you are in your last years of High School or at University and would like to check this out, we have a wonderful new Website and Blog up and running and would love to hear from you :)

Check it out here at Senior Revolution!

Island Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Simone and Tim on Stewart Island at the weekend and although I’m on dialup speed when over here, had to post a few photos for Simone, the gorgeous bride to have a peek at :)

Holiday

We’ve just come back from 8 days in Sydney……Bliss!!

Kylie (our daughter) and I decided we needed a break, as she’s a school teacher the only time we could go was in the school holidays so thats what we did :)

We stayed at Four Points by Sheraton at Darling Harbour and this was the view from our room.

No matter what time of the day or night you looked out, their were people moving about, there are restaurants on both sides of the harbour which were always busy with people coming and going.

Just below us is the Sydney Aquarium and beside that Sydney Wildlife World both of which are well worth a visit.

This is looking back across to our hotel, the Aquarium and Wildlife World are bottom left.

These were taken with my point & shoot camera a Panasonic Lumix, I left my DSLR and Laptop at home for a change :)

Oh and the red circle is our hotel room :)

This one was taken at sunset the night before we flew home.

Todays Session

A few from this afternoon, this little one is celebrating his 1st birthday this week, he is such a happy little fellow, happy to sit and smile and he has the most amazing blue eyes :)

Cute Little Smiler

Opps I’ve been very lax in keeping up with posting, but here is a wee fellow whose smile hardly ever left his face, very cute! :)

Sunday Stroll

After having the flu for most of the week it was so good to get out in the sunshine with our grandsons yesterday, we walked around the track that follows the coast and leads out to Rotten Row, this is where the old oyster and fishing boats were put and left to rot when they had finished their days at sea…….

This is looking back towards home!

Skipping stones!

Maternity

A really neat young couple expecting their first bub in about 10 weeks.

Thanks you two for being so easy to work with :)
